After finally becoming completely disgusted by Chilean commercial offerings such as Cristal, Quilmes, and the worst culprit of all, Escudo, I’d practically given up on trying to find decent beer anywhere in this country.
However, recently I was pleasantly surprised to discover a local microbrewery that produce some absolutely fantastic dark ales. I was so pleased to finally find a Chilean beer that was genuinely good, that I just had to share it with you guys.
So in honour of their excellent beer, this post is a shoutout to the guys from Urriche who produce what I think is hands down the best real ale you will find in Chile.
Urriche is a microbrewery run by a young couple living in Santiago – if you’re interested in purchasing beer from them, you can contact them through their facebook page here. It’s available in three delectable flavours – Pumpkin Pie Ale, Romero Ale and Canela (cinnamon) ale and they even deliver to your door!
Ice cold real ale alongside a Chilean asado on a hot summer’s evening… It’s moments like these that make life worth living.
